Behind Life’s Works
It is common advice for a writer to be told to write what you know. I second that notion. Furthermore, I add to it that you should write what you’ve learned. We can all live and learn and share uplifting stories of triumph to pave the way for one another to take joy in following a similar journey. I believe it can be straightforward without being pedantic.
In one way or another writers are creating a microcosm of life, be it non-fiction, fiction, historical fiction, or even science fiction fantasy. Whether intended or not, the way we write tends to depict how we perceive the world, or else a way we want to view a world through a new set of rules and circumstances. Make no mistake we are creating a version of what we already know from our perspective or our real world experience. Whatever we read also affects how we view the world, whether entrenching us further into our belief systems or making us think twice about our realities when confronted with new ideas.
In many ways reading is an escape from our worlds, be it from simple boredom of the mundane, numbness of apathy, the wake up of truth in the face of dangers of treacherous choices or associations, or something else. My life has been blessed with a fullness of purpose and a wonderful supporting cast, so I personally choose to share my perspective on true-to-life stories of protagonists who fight for truth and for their dreams through whatever challenges and obstacles come their way, knowing everything can and will work out eventually for those who press on and knowing we too can all reap similar lasting benefits whatever our unique opportunities. This is the age of information. Of all times, now is a time when we can connect our paths and seek the good life more than ever before. I believe we can do so by reading other’s inspiring stories, regrouping, and then immersing ourselves back into our own lives, applying favorable principles, and seeking to make our own best selves and best living tales going forward.
In other words, I write about happy endings, because the stories of our life’s works can also be a story you can be proud of in the end. I hope by reading my blog you will gain some insight into my life, into my life’s works, and most of all into your own life, figuring out how you want your life to go, and what you are going to do to get it there. I wish you well in using newfound knowledge to make the most of your life’s works and resulting life’s stories!
